The North Simcoe Hospital Alliance remains committed to maintaining the current level of services and quality of care provided at both local hospitals. We have provided you with up-to-date information on all of our services to help you as a future patient and as an interested member of our communities.

The Alliance has also completed a strategic planning process to help us determine both short-term and long-term future needs. This process was led by Agnew Peckham and involved our staff, volunteers, physicians and the community represented by our elected board members.

Four major strategic directions were set to help guide us in planning for your future hospital care:

1. Address changing community needs by

  • expanding out-patient services
  • developing health promotion, disease prevention and seniors' wellness programs
  • expanding surgery, emergency, mental health, rehabilitation and complex continuing care to
    accommodate increasing patient volumes.

2. Develop a creative human resource strategy to attract and retain all levels of health care professionals by

  • Investigating group practices for physicians
  • providing up-to-date technology and equipment
  • enhancing our work environment.

3. Prepare for the next stages of organizational change

4. Renew our focus on resource management to maintain services and quality care, produce cost savings if possible and enhance services through

  • on-going collaboration
  • regional planning with the Simcoe Muskoka Hospital Network
  • provincial support through a new funding formula and multi-year business planning
